In Kyoto, it sometimes snows from January to February. However, there are only a few times that snow can pile without melting. If you have a snowy day when you are traveling, you are very lucky. Please go to sightseeing spots such as Kinkakuji Temple and Arashiyama early in the morning. Then you can see the amazingly beautiful white world! Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine is one of the most popular attractions in Kyoto. Let's go deep into this shrine! It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes from the entrance of Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine to the summit, including a break. Of course you can go back along the way. However, if you go to the top, you can see the city of Kyoto. The sunset is also beautiful! Please refer to the following article about Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine. Rurikoin Temple in Kyoto is known for its beautiful fresh greenery and autumn leaves. This temple has a mysterious room. The table in the room is polished like a mirror. In this room you can enjoy the scenery like this page. This temple is normally closed. However, it is open to the public in spring and autumn and is crowded with many tourists. For details, please refer to the following official website. Photos: Eikando Zenrin-ji Temple -The temple with the most beautiful autumn colors

In Kyoto, autumn leaves peak from late November to early December. If you are going to Kyoto, I recommend Eikando Zenrin-ji Temple first. About 3000 maples are planted here. This temple has been praised for more than 1000 years for its beautiful autumn leaves. However, at peak time, you have to line up for a long time to enter this temple. If you don't want to line up, book a bus tour or a kaiseki restaurant next to the temple. There is a risk of traffic congestion on the bus tour. So I like to go nearby by the subway (Keage Sta) and use the restaurant next to the temple. This restaurant is not so delicious. But when you finish eating, you can enter the temple right from the special entrance. Please refer to the following article about Japanese autumn leaves. If you go to Kyoto in December, I recommend going to Arashiyama at night. You can enjoy the fantastic illumination "Hanatouro" of Arashiyama on the middle of December night. At Keifuku Arashiyama Station, you can also experience the illumination called “Kimono Forest”. It's very crowded on weekends, so you should go on a weekday night! Nanzenji is a very large temple. There are many sub temples inside. You can enjoy various unique traditional buildings and gardens. A recommended course in Kyoto is to take a stroll around Tetsugaku-no-michi (Philosopher's Walk) from Ginkakuji, located in the northeast of Kyoto, and take a tour of Nanzenji and nearby Eikando. If you are traveling to Kyoto, I recommend taking a walk along the Kamogawa River. The people of Kyoto have lived with this river since ancient times. Stroll along this river and you will be able to witness a peaceful Japanese sight where lovers talk and families relax. Around Gion, you can enjoy the scenery of traditional restaurants as seen on this slide. In the evening, many lovers sit at equal intervals on the riverbank and enjoy the beautiful river atmosphere. Would you like to refresh yourself on this riverbank? Kyoto Imperial Palace (Kyoto Gosho) is the former palace of the Emperor. Since the capital was moved to Tokyo in 1869, it has been managed by the Imperial Household Agency. Today the site is open to the public. The Imperial Household Agency hosts public tours of the building several times a day. When traveling in Kyoto, it's a good idea to explore the elegant world where the Emperor lived!
